The holiday takes place in the village Caprese de Michelangelo, Tuscany. This is Michelangelo’s birthplace and there is a wonderful art and sculpture museum in the house of his birth. The village lies on the side of a hillside and the scenery is fabulous.

There is a morning meditation, usually outside followed by a long morning, usually indoor asana yoga class every day. A couple of mornings during the week, we plan to do yoga in the forest, a truly magical experience. Three photography workshops are scheduled for the afternoons along with excursions to several interesting places. These include: La Verna Hilltop Monastery; Traditional linen weavers in the medieval town of Angiahri; Olive farm and dinner under the stars; Herbal medicine museum and suppliers; Art Gallery in Sansapulcro.
The Yoga teacher is Susan and the Photography instructor is Roger Taylor, ( Daily Telegraph photographer and expert on local wild-life). Roger is also an artist and will provide an optional art class for which an extra charge will be made for materials and helpful guidance. Rhiannon will hold a voice workshop. Relaxing head & shoulder and back massages or Reiki treatments are available from Susan. (The massages are not included in the price)
You would need to arrange your own flights to either Rome, Florence, or Pisa and from these places take a train to Arrezo. Alternatively you can fly directly to Perugia (Ryan Air). We will collect you from either Arrezo or Perugia. Transfer cost will be according to the number of people arriving but we will endeavour to keep the cost low. We are happy to give further advice on travel arrangements should you need it.
The scenery in this part of Tuscany is stunning. From Caprese Michelangelo you can enjoy walking and hiking in the hills and the forests. It is truly inspiring for artists and photographers alike
Art In Tuscany:
One of the most famous artists of this area is Piero della Francesca. You can see much of his work in the small city of Arrezo and in the village Monterchi, there is a whole gallery given over to the display of his wonderful painting Madonna del Parto. In Caprese you can visit the birthplace of Michelangelo and enjoy a sculpture garden and exhibition. In Sansapulcro there is an excellent town Museum of Art. Many artists, professional and budding are inspired by the fabulous landscapes and ever changing light of the area. Art materials for your use are available plus instruction, at an extra cost.
